Raytheon is seeking a Test Engineer with education and experience in performing circuit card testing and troubleshooting to the component level utilizing schematics and test equipment.

Responsibilities include working with a team of engineers performing electrical tests and troubleshooting on subassemblies, assemblies, and systems for conformance to specifications; Understanding and applying the theory of operation for the unit under test to enable determination of faulty product for design, workmanship, environmental and/or component defects.

Additionally, the candidate will work on systems validation, test and analysis while working through all phases of integration, and test validation activities within the Labs.  As a Test Engineer, the candidate will ensure customer success through the development and execution of innovative and comprehensive test, verification, and validation strategies, processes, tools and techniques.

What You Will Do

  • Interpret schematics and test procedures to perform Acceptance or Development Testing on Circuit Card Assemblies (CCA).
  • Communicate with CCA designers and other program leaders.
  • Review test objectives and success criteria.
  • Troubleshoot electronics failures as it relates to power, controls, or digital technology.
  • Develop and complete test reports that review collected test data and analyze results.

  • Advanced CCA testing and troubleshooting techniques at the component level for designs related to power, controls, and/or digital technology.
  • Communicate progress to program and functional leaders to inform all stakeholders of achievements and barriers to success for the product being developed.

Qualifications You Must Have  

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 2 years of prior engineering experience.
  • Component level test experience and proficient use of test equipment such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience performing engineering tests such as ATP (Acceptance Test Procedure), DVT (Design Verification Test) and DMV (Design Margin Verification).
  • Knowledge of programmable electronic parts including microcontrollers and FPGA’s.
  • Strong team player with good interpersonal skills as well as strong written/verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with colleagues who represent a diversity of work and conflict resolution styles.

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance. This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
