Schedule/Hours: Monday-Friday Schedule: M-F, 8-430pm

Job Description:

A global leader in the citrus industry, is looking for a Quality Control Manager to join their Import Operations team in Swedesboro, NJ. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about fruit quality, optimization, and ensuring top-notch standards throughout the storage, packing, and distribution process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with customers and their quality teams to optimize product utilization and address any quality deviations.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures and standards.
  • Conduct inspections of incoming fruits (including citrus, grapes, plums, and other varieties) during the packing process.
  • Identify and document any defects or quality issues, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Allocate products to lots and customers based on quality and origin.
  • Ensure all quality control processes comply with industry standards and regulations (USDA/FDA) and the company's QA Manual.
  • Work closely with other departments, such as marketing and operations, to address quality concerns and align with quality goals.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality control processes and overall product quality.
Requirements:
  • Bachelors in Food Science, Agriculture, or a related field is required.
  • Experience in the fruit industry with a strong understanding of fruit quality standards and inspections.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Computer literacy, particularly in database systems.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant certifications in quality control or food safety are a plus.
