RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce's client, a government contractor in Washington DC, is looking to hire a Controller to oversee all aspects of the company's financial operations, including accounting, tax, and financial reporting.Key Responsibilities:
  • Controller will ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
  • Prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP and government contracting standards
  • Utilize Deltek Costpoint for all financial and project accounting functions
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of data within Deltek Costpoint
  • Train and support staff on the use of Deltek Costpoint for project accounting and reporting
  • Maintain compliance with DCAA, FAR, CAS, and other government regulations
  • Coordinate and manage audits with external auditors, including DCAA audits
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard the company's assets and ensure compliance with corporate policies and government regulations
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and provide ongoing financial forecasting
  • Monitor actual performance against budget and provide variance analysis
  • Support project managers with financial insights and reporting for project performance and cost control
  • Supervise and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance and professional development
  • As a Controller, you will oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions
  • Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment
  • Manage all aspects of tax planning and compliance
  • Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns
  • Stay updated on tax legislation and ensure the company's tax practices are compliant.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a controller or senior accounting role within a government contracting environment
  • Expertise in Deltek Costpoint is required
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, FAR, CAS, and other relevant regulations
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software
  • Proven leadership abilities and experience managing a team
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.

Note: Pay is not considered compensation until it is earned, vested and determinable. The amount and availability of any compensation remains in Kforce's sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified in its discretion consistent with the law.
