Job Summary

The primary responsibilities of this job are to perform routine and emergency repair work to equipment and machinery.  Ensure operations meet production, safety, and quality specifications.

Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities

·         Perform routine preventative maintenance in a safe manner consistent with company Policy and Procedures and safety training.

·         Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment

·         Maintain good housekeeping in assigned areas consistent with Good Manufacturing Practices.

·         Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation.

·         Perform emergency repairs as needed.

·         Monitor and inspect equipment/machinery for mechanical soundness and make required and necessary repairs.

·         Perform all job functions consistent with Good Manufacturing Practices, Standard Operating Procedures and Quality Control Guidelines.

·         Must have a good understanding of computer control system throughout the mill.

·         Perform general labor or other duties as assigned by management.  Must attend scheduled safety meetings and other training meetings.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

·         Must be task oriented and a self-starter with the ability to follow detailed instructions.

·         Must be able to operate material handling equipment.

·         Experience in metal fabrication, feed equipment mechanics, electrical wiring, and motors.

·         Must be able to work flexible hours as required and be on call.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous feed mill experiences preferred.
• Previous experience in a light to medium industrial setting preferred, with preference given to individuals who have previously worked in a feed mill.
• Must be willing to work overtime and flexible shifts as required, including weekends, holidays, and other shifts.

Physical Demands

·         Ability to lift heavy equipment.

·         Ability to work at heights and climb ladders.

·         Ability to work in confined spaces.

·         Ability to work in any weather environment

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet, humid, and dusty conditions and moving mechanical parts.  The employee is occasionally exposed to high precarious places, extreme cold and heat; risk of electrical shock; and vibration.  The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
