The work schedule for this position is: 2nd shift, Monday-Friday, 2:00pm-10:30pm, with rotating Saturdays. Position eligible for 10% shift differential due to 2nd shift hours.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Performs tests and analyses in an entry level capacity according to established testing procedures in designated technical department.
  • Gains knowledge of department procedures and operations.
  • Esoteric Microbiology Technologist, Candidate will aid in identification of microorganisms such as Acid Fast Bacilli (AFB), fungi, and others through a variety of methods including: special stains, antigen detection, DNA probes, culture reading, PCR, Sequencing, MALD-TOF, and others.
  • Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, antimicrobial susceptibility testing, assisting customer service and specimen management, and problem solving to ensure accurate results and compliance.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology or related science required
  • No previous clinical laboratory testing experience is required for a trainee position
  • Previous working experience with LabCorp preferred
