1:1 SCHOOL BASED PERSONAL CARE AIDE PCA

*Must be willing to ride transportation from child's home to school and back*

Job Details for the School Based Personal Care Aide PCA are as follows:

  • Specialty: Life Skills, Autistic Support
  • $22 per hour, paid weekly
    • transportation and mandatory in-services at $18 per hour
  • Assignment Location(s): Mountain Top, PA to Shickshinny, PA (transportation arranged)
  • Work with physically/intellectually disabled children 1:1, ages 4 through 21
  • Assignments grades K through 12; M-F between 7:30am and 3:30pm (hours vary)
    • OFF (without pay) holidays, weekends, snow days, vacation days, Summers
    • other opportunities available; 1:1 in home, group homes, personal care homes, etc. 
  • Company Benefits: health insurance, accrued PTO, referral bonuses up to $500, direct deposit, etc.

School Based Personal Care Aides PCAs are members of the interdisciplinary team who provide hands-on personal care, report changes in the client’s condition, perform simple procedures as an extension of therapy or nursing services, and provide incidental/instrumental activities of daily living to clients in the home setting as evaluated/delegated and as permitted by the policies and procedures of Interim HealthCare and any other federal, state and local law or regulation.

Responsibilities of the School Based Personal Care Aide PCA:

  • Follow school policies and procedures
  • Assist in keeping the client on task in a classroom setting
  • Redirect when necessary in the case of disruption
  • Assist with bathroom duties, if needed
  • Ensure that the child is safe and not harming others
  • Report observations or concerns to Interim supervisor

Minimum Requirements of the School Based Personal Care Aide PCA:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent; required
  • 6 months of pediatric experience; preferred
  • CPR and First Aide Certificate; required
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be willing to undergo Pre-Employment Screenings
