What You Will Do:

  • Raytheon currently has an exciting IT position available that supports the Raytheon mission of making the world a safer place.  We are currently seeking a Linux Systems Administrator that will be working onsite in a highly collaborative, multi-platform and multi–disciplined environment. The Systems Administrator is required to have an active secret security clearance as they will be responsible for deploying and maintaining classified IT infrastructures. 

  • The candidate’s day-to-day activities include but are not limited to: Red Hat Linux server management; storage management; file server management; access management; data backup; software and license configuration; and workstation support.  Each day in the life of a Systems Administrator can bring something new – building a new IT infrastructure for a group of engineers, restoring files due to an outage, updating virus definitions and security patches, teaming with our brilliant engineers on how to improve their processes, and more.

  • The selected individual should be a professional contributor who is willing to work as a team member in a fast-paced technological environment.

  • Troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of a moderate to high scope and complexity to include the integration of hardware and operating systems.

  • Install and configure hardware and OS.

  • This position is a 100% onsite role.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically, Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of experience or 6 years of directly related experience.

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • Must have Linux or Windows experience.

  • Experience with Active Directory, VMware, Administration, backup and recovery.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level 2 certification or higher

  • Experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS and/or DoD/RMF

  • In-depth working experience in Windows Server

  • Experience with data storage, NAS, and SAN technologies and solutions

  • Experience with using Information Technology project lifecycle management processes.

  • Experience using VMWare vCenter, vSphere, and ESX and/or other virtual computing methods.

  • Experience supporting engineers in software, simulations, and hardware development.

  • High Performance Computing (HPC) experience in a Linux environment

  • Experience hardening systems using tools like SCAP and following STIGs.

  • Experience with Enterprise Active Directory (AD) & LDAP

  • Scripting Experience

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance. This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
