Assess infection control problems and makes recommendations Prepares the agenda for the infection control committee Monitors infection control practices and employee compliance Servers as a resource for all departments and personnel Initiates and revises infection control policies and procedures Conducts outbreak investigations and initiates control measures Consults with department heads and physicians as needed to improve care Initiates follow-up on employee/resident exposure to communicable disease Participates in performance improvement activities. Administers medication and treatments as prescribed. Has direct function for acute medical/nursing care plan and documentation pertaining to infections. Assists with development of interdisciplinary care plan and aides in maintaining review. Supervises nursing personnel assigned to the staff dealing with residents and their infections. Assists in teaching residents and in training new personnel. Keeps Unit Managers informed. Participates in nursing committees. On Call Rotation Weekend Rotation Education: Associate’s Degree from an accredited School of Nursing. Registered Nurse currently licensed in Ohio. Experience: Long-term care experience preferred. Currently certified in CPR. Completion of a basic training program for Infection Control Certification in Infection Control is desired.
