Position Title: Hardware Technician

Salary: $65-75k

Location: Berlin Township, NJ

Schedule: M-F 8-5 Flexible

Pay Rate: $65-75K

Job Description:

Job Summary: The Hardware Technician will lay out, build, test, troubleshoot, repair, and modify developmental and production electronic components, parts, equipment, and systems, including computer equipment and test equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Test resolving software and hardware complications while documenting test methods and procedures. Analyze and interpret test data. Perform unit testing, system testing, integrity testing, and regression testing.
  • Perform software distribution, installation, and implementation of application builds and releases over system test configurations, including multi-level OS customization for desired functionality.
  • Assemble experimental circuitry (breadboard) or complete prototype models according to engineering instructions, technical manuals, and knowledge of electronic systems and components.
  • Install and maintain primary and redundant servers for the corporate LAN.
  • Write technical reports and develop charts, graphs, and schematics to describe and illustrate system's operating characteristics, malfunctions, deviations from design specifications, and functional limitations for consideration by engineers.
  • Interface with customers and contract manufacturers.
  • Provide internal and field training for unit and system testing.
  • Provide failure analysis, field support, and troubleshooting recommendations.
  • Perform site surveys and system installations at FAA sites.
Job Requirements:

Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of various computer software and hardware platforms at FAA sites and in general.
  • Skill in collecting, analyzing, and summarizing specific data.
  • Ability to use a variety of instrumentation techniques.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experienced with hand tools and small power tools.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings, datasheets, and written work instructions.
Education & Experience:
  • High School diploma with technical school required. BS or Associates degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years of related experience and/or training.
  • Experience using electronic test equipment.
