Job Summary: The Industrial Maintenance Technician will perform a wide variety of maintenance tasks pertaining to the general upkeep and maintenance of both equipment and the building. This position will troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and perform scheduled maintenance procedures. In addition, the maintenance technician will perform light mechanical work such as repairing hand tools, minor plumbing and light carpentry work. This position will be called on to do miscellaneous indoor and outdoor projects, cleaning and repairs as necessary. This is a part-time position with the intention to work a total of 24 hours a week. Work hours are flexible depending on candidates availability.

Essential Duties:

  • Maintain preventive maintenance schedules and task lists for all production equipment
  • Servicing and repair of hand tools and minor floor machines
  • Building maintenance and repairs, including drywall, paint, doors, locks, racks, equipment and restroom upkeep.
  • External building maintenance such as snow removal or landscaping.
  • Trash and cardboard removal as needed
  • Ensure regulatory requirements are performed and met for water and air discharge quality
  • Maintain light bulbs, HVAC filters, door and window functions
  • Assemble, install, disassemble and relocate workstation equipment and furnishings as needed
  • Clean and organize multiple areas of the facility
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities
  • All other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of general OSHA safety standards and regulations.
  • Ability to read labels and work instructions
  • Ability to work independently to troubleshoot problems as well as in a team environment
  • Ability to perform basic math functions, including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • Experience using Word, Excel, Power Point, and multiple business applications.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and self-motivate

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee will be working both inside and outside of the manufacturing plant and is required to walk, stand, bend, and lift up to 60 pounds on an infrequent basis. This position will also stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One year of work experience in industrial maintenance
  • Experience using a cardboard trash compactor, preferred
  • Power equipment certification, preferred
  • Previous experience with preventative maintenance tracking, preferred
