Darling Ingredients is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic/Welder to join our team in Amarillo, TX . This is a pivotal role where you will be responsible for installing, repairing and monitoring industrial processing and production machinery as well as executing a preventative maintenance program, keeping safety as a top priority.

    • 1st shift : 7:00am - 2:30pm
    • 3rd shift : 11:00pm - 7:00am
Essential duties/responsibilities:

  • Performs all phases of maintenance, including electrical and mechanical systems (i.e. fabricating, welding troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and performing required preventative maintenance).
  • Understands the mill flow and mill schematics.
  • Maintains all equipment in good working condition.
  • Follows preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Able to perform routine services and troubleshoot and repair all mill equipment.
  • Maintains clean, neat, and orderly work area at all times.
  • Assists personnel on special fabrication and construction projects.
  • Performs machine repair and installation such as replacing motors, rebuilding gear boxes, run threaded piping, run weld piping, replace belting, replace bearings, welds and uses cutting torch.
  • Conducts daily greasing and oiling of plant equipment as needed.
  • Diagnoses and replaces equipment parts with little or no direction.
  • Communicates well with operators and management.
  • Responsible for using assigned personal protective equipment and required safety equipment; responsible for being familiar with and observing all Company safety rules and regulations.
  • Attends regularly scheduled safety meetings and may be asked to serve on Safety Committee.
  • All other duties as assigned.
