Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop CNC programs for both production and prototype parts.
  • Analyze drawings and designs to determine accurate unit dimensions.
  • Determine appropriate cutting tools, machine speeds, and feed rates based on drawings.
  • Review all programs for accuracy during the in-process and at the final run.
  • Modify or edit existing programs as needed.
  • Perform machine set-ups (including first piece) to produce conforming parts. A programmer doesn’t do set-ups here.
  • Understand the capabilities of relevant manufacturing equipment, operations, and software.
  • Recommend resources for equipment, tooling, and materials.
  • Develop methods for processes and improvements.
  • Assist in training CNC machinists, operators, and other teams.
  • Track and evaluate costs and efficiency, including tooling, material, and cycle times.
  • Assist in providing necessary information for quotations and contract reviews.
  • Proficiency in developing CNC programs for machining stainless steel and high nickel alloy components for machines such as Haas, Mazak, Doosan, YCM, and Okuma.
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining requirements.
  • Ability to select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds for machining operations on stainless steel and high nickel alloys.
  • Skilled in performing machine set-ups and ensuring parts are produced according to specified tolerances and quality standards.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills to resolve machining issues and maintain production efficiency.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering and production teams to optimize machining processes and improve product quality.
  • Commitment to adhering to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records of machining activities.
  • Willingness to stay updated on advancements in CNC machining technology and techniques.
  • Support manufacturing and engineering teams by providing input for routers and process flow.
