We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our pediatric team. The ideal candidate will have excellent clinical knowledge, strong communication skills, and a passion for providing high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities- Clinical Knowledge: Apply basic medical knowledge to common diagnoses in the department, expand knowledge by asking insightful questions and reading medical literature critically.
- Diagnostic Evaluation: Provide basic evaluation for common diagnoses, recommend broad evaluation based on an unfocused differential diagnosis.
- Patient History: Gather patient information following a template, adapt the template to filter and prioritize pertinent positives and negatives.
- Patient Care: Present clinical facts to preceptor, supervising physician, and care team, generate an unfocused differential diagnosis based on clinical facts.
- Procedures: Perform procedures as defined by clinical department, increase exposure to core procedures and performance guidance.
- Patient and Family Centered Communications: Establish rapport with patients/families, develop therapeutic relationship in straightforward encounters.
- Interpersonal and Team Communication: Participate within the inter-professional team, clearly request consultation and present relevant patient information.
- Communication within the Health Care System: Accurately and timely record information in the patient record, respond to requests in appropriate form.
- Evidence-based and Informed Practice: Develop and articulate clinical questions, access available evidence with guidance.
- Reflective Practice and Commitment to Personal Growth: Participate in feedback sessions, develop professional goals and learning plan incorporating feedback and performance data.
- Minimum Education and Experience Required:
- Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner: Graduate degree in nursing accredited by national certifying bodies in nursing.
- Physician Assistant: Graduation from a physician assistant program accredited by ARC-PA.
- License and/or Certification:
- Provider licensing: Current State of Connecticut APRN licensure or NCCPA certification.
- Additional certifications may be required depending on privileges for role.
