Grants Analyst II - FinanceIn this role, you will assisting in the facilitation, acceptance, and tracking of grants used by the City of Colorado Springs in addition to other tasks as assigned by the Grants Manager.Job Type: Full TimeWork Schedule: Monday - Friday (8 hours per day)Work Location: City Administration Building (30 S Nevada Ave. Colorado Springs, CO 80903)This position is subject to budget required furloughs to be implemented in the 2026 calendar year, and any furloughs subsequently approved.As an Analyst II, you will:Perform all functions of grant management for externally funded grant awardsSupport the pre-award function and application developmentFacilitate the acceptance of grant awardsPrepare, analyze, and/or audit financial records and documentsMaintain and update data in PeopleSoft Grants and other related modulesMonitor grant revenues and expenditures; ensure transactions are properly recorded in the City's financial accounting systemResearch and analyze data for accuracy, trends, and variances to ensure City practices and procedures have been followed; ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulationsPrepare and file monthly, quarterly, or annual grant reports and/or requests for reimbursementsAnalyze grant budgets; set up appropriate line items for compatibility with accounting systems; and analyze and maximize the utilization of grant fundsAssist with other grant related projects as neededWe are looking for candidates who demonstrate:Knowledge of the methods and techniques of data collection, research, and report preparationKnowledge of principles and practices of grants administrationKnowledge of pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulationsAbility to collect, evaluate, and interpret complex information and dataAbility to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writingAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationshipsProficiency with Microsoft Office SuiteMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in a related area of study.Three years of full-time, professional experience in a related field.Preferred Qualifications:Experience managing federal, state and private grantsExperience managing Housing and Urban Development fundingExperience working with PeopleSoft Financials including Grants, Project Costing and Customer ContractsExperience working with SharePointExperience reviewing and developing processes and proceduresPlease contact Katie McLaughlin at katie.mclaughlin@coloradosprings.gov for any questions about this position.Equal Opportunity EmployerThe City of Colorado Springs is committed to a culture that values our employees' unique individual qualities and fosters an inclusive environment where people want to be.The City of Colorado Springs offers additional compensation depending on the position, area of assignment, and specific job assignments, including shift differential, pay differential, acting or lead, special assignment, hazard pay, longevity, cell phone allowance, uniform allowance, relocation, awards, standby, call out, compensatory time off, tuition, overtime, extra duty, incentive, holiday premium, and vacation sell back.
