Finishing Manager

Finishing Supervisor - Pace Engineering
Job Description:
Manages Shipping team and ensure coverage as needed
Reviews labor hours weekly, approve Paylocity, and submits to Human Resources
Conducts annual performance review of direct reports
Partner with Human Resources to properly staff department and handle any disciplinary issues
Conducts department meeting to discuss material problems or explain procedural changes or practices
Work closely with transportation providers regarding equipment and service
Ensure all orders including those at off-site warehouses are shipped in system timely
Ability to route orders in any customer portal application
Work with fulfillment on orders coming due to ensure on-time shipment
Develop employees to improve efficiency and ensure conformance with standard procedures and practices
Be the lead and partner with 3PL TMS provider to develop & streamline on-line tendering strategies, on-board new carriers, resolve carrier invoice issues
Meet with TMS provider periodically to review cost and carrier metrics
Ensure low cost carriers are predominately being utilized to best manage transportation expense
Resolve any mis-shipped freight and customer tracking issues
Maintain safe and clean work area
Partner with Customer Service, Sales and other DC’s to best serve our customers
Review reports and monitor order statuses to achieve on-time goals
Review and edit Customer Resource Form to ensure exceptional customer compliance
Work over-time as needed
Manage CHEP pallet program
Education & Experience:
Associates or Bachelor’s Degree desired – or equivalent related work experience
MS office savvy.
Manager/Supervisory experience required (3-5 years)
5 years shipping experience required
Able to lift 40 or more pounds
Must be able to stand/sit for long periods of time
