Speech-Language PathologistPurpose As a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), you will play a key role in helping students build the communication skills they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Payment Rate Per Certified Salary Schedule Benefits Per Master Agreement Qualifications Master's degree from an accredited college or university Current State Teaching Certificate (on file in Central Office) Current Speech Pathologist License (on file in Central Office) What You'll DoEssential Responsibilities Provide speech and language evaluations, therapy, and services for students with communication or related disorders. Support students in developing communication skills through both pull-out and push-in service models, consistent with each student's IEP. Create a positive, inclusive learning environment and respond to individual student needs. Collaborate closely with teachers and administrators to support student learning and provide classroom strategies. Communicate clearly and promptly with school leaders, special education supervisors, and district teams. Use required tools, materials, and technology effectively. Adapt to new practices, integrate professional learning, and adjust services as needed. Work in partnership with special education and school leadership to help students reach their fullest potential. Physical Requirements & Working ConditionsAdditional Responsibilities Conduct screenings and diagnostic evaluations in speech, language, and hearing. Participate in initial evaluations, reviews, and reevaluations as part of a multidisciplinary team. Help develop and implement IEPs, ensuring students receive support in the least restrictive environment. Track student progress and make timely, data-informed decisions. Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and educators to support students at school and at home. Assist teachers with curriculum adaptations and communication-support strategies. Connect students and families with community resources when appropriate. Motivate students through positive communication, clear expectations, and constructive feedback. Build strong relationships and recognize individual student differences. Maintain a positive, well-managed learning environment. Support students through academic and social transitions. Foster self-confidence and social development in students with communication needs. Maintain accurate, confidential documentation and submit required reports on time. Maintain and organize materials, supplies, and equipment. Supervise and train assigned support staff. Engage in outreach efforts that increase awareness of special education services. Stay current on best practices, research, and tools in the field. Follow district and cooperative policies and procedures. Obtain approval for special activities and expenditures. Follow all health and safety guidelines, including Bloodborne Pathogen protocols. Follow guidelines outlined in the district's Special Education Plan.
