AHMG Hospitalists at Central Florida
Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C),
Nocturnist 6 pm - 6 am
AdventHealth Winter Park
General Summary:
The ARNP or PA-C, under the supervision of the Physician(s), who acts as the collaborative practitioner, is responsible for:
Performs physical examinations of hospital patients including, but not limited to: new patient visits, pre & post-operative care, hospital consultations, inpatient rounding and discharging of patients per hospital protocol
Provides assistance during procedures when requested
Orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests, such as routine laboratory, X-ray, etc
Monitors the patients course of treatment and makes appropriate referral to either a physician or specialist, as needed
Collaborates with physician and staff as necessary to provide consistent care to patients and support to staff
Displays a caring and professional attitude at all time as well as maintaining personal and professional growth
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, patients, and the public.
Strong communication skills
Ability to handle a high volume of patients in an inpatient setting
Position requires a 7 on/7 off work schedule with daily hours of 6PM-6AM
Position is based at AdventHealth Winter Park
Candidate must be able to pass a third party background check and pre-employment drug screen
Required Education/Experience:
Masters degree in Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant studies
Preferred Education/Experience:
Previous Internal Medicine or Hospitalist experience is required 1 -2 years
Prefer 2 years of inpatient based medicine, preferably in Internal Medicine
Licensure, Certification, and Registration:
Current, valid Florida ARNP or PA license (or eligibility) required
Current, valid DEA license
ANCC (or equivalent) or PANCE Certification (or eligibility) required
Current BLS and ACLS required
Hospital DescriptionAdventHealth Winter Park, a part of AdventHealth Orlando, formerly Winter Park Memorial Hospital was chartered in 1951. The hospital has grown from the visionary efforts of a handful of Winter Park residents and community leaders to a 382-bed acute care facility that is a model of community health and wellness. Over the years the hospital has continually expanded to meet the needs of the community, adding an upscale obstetrics and Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at The Dr. P. Phillips Baby Place, AdventHealth Winter Parks Outpatient Center and Women's Services, cancer care at AdventHealths Cancer Institute, Winter Park, and state-of-the-art surgery, recovery and rehabilitation at the AdventHealth Orthopaedic Institute.
