Job Overview: RWJBarnabas Health is looking to add a qualified full-time Respiratory Therapist in Hamilton, NJ. The Respiratory Therapist provides will assess, treat, and care for patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders. Qualifications: Required: AS Degree in Applied Science Graduate of AMA approved Respiratory Therapy Program Preferred: ACLS Bachelors of Science Certification and License Required: Registered Respiratory Therapist by NBRC Licensed by New Jersey State Board of Respiratory Care BLS Certification Required, American Heart Association Scheduling Requirements: Day Shift, 40 hours/week (8:30AM - 5 PM) Full-Time Schedule Essential Functions: Will perform diagnostic tests, administer therapies, educate patients, and collaborate with the physicians to develop and implement treatment plans Perform and interpret various tests, such as pulmonary function tests and 6-minute walk tests to assess lung capacity and oxygen levels Provide a range of respiratory therapies, including medication administration e.g.: inhalers, nebulizers, methacholine, and oxygen therapy, Set up, operate, and maintain respiratory equipment, ensuring proper functioning and patient safety Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and other relevant information Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with safety protocols Set up and educate patients on home oxygen and sleep apnea treatment program Consult with physicians and other healthcare professionals regarding patient care, reporting findings, and recommending treatment adjustments Conduct follow-up assessments and equipment compliance checks for patients receiving respiratory care Other Duties: Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
