Finance Director/Controller 

We are seeking a Finance Director/Controller who wants to jump in head-first and help drive fast growth in an entrepreneurial environment within the e-commerce/retail industry. 


We need a dynamic and talented person with 5-7 years of professional experience in retail accounting, or a closely related field. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, resourceful, willing to dive in and execute, and have excellent communication and leadership skills. The role is responsible for all aspects of accounting, reporting and forecasting.

Objectives & Responsibilities:

  • Guide the financial operations and financial planning of the company in alignment with company goals and accelerating growth
  • Manage the accounting function and financial reporting 
  • Assist with year-end audits and tax returns
  • Create robust forecasts and financial models to assist with forward-looking strategic planning with business unit directors
  • Create internal and external financial reports, non-financial key performance indicators, and forecasts to help inform business decisions

  • You love accounting and implementing best practices that drive efficiency
  • You have a track record of implementing effective accounting processes and working with a team to achieve great results
  • You are enthusiastic about researching areas of improvement within accounting to increase workflow and support growth
  • You are excited about organizing information and creating effective ways to analyze and interpret data to inform business decisions
  • You are organized and process-driven and can build accounting workflows and procedures that are scalable
  • You have an innate ability to simplify and explain accounting/finance concepts and reports to partners as well as colleagues
  • You are comfortable interacting directly with vendors and partners 
  • You have experience or good working knowledge of QuickBooks, Intuit, Glew, Shopify and/or other accounting software
  • You have experience with Google Docs/Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and modeling
  • You have a Bachelor's Degree in accounting
  • You have 5-7 years professional experience in retail accounting, or closely related field
  • Communication.


Bonus Skills/Experience Nice to Have (but not required):

  • CPA
  • Master’s degree or other advanced training in finance/accounting 
  • Experience creating budgets
