Job Description: B2B EDI Specialist

Position Summary:

The B2B EDI Specialist oversees all facets of Business to Business (B2B) Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), managing the entire system development life cycle from planning to implementation. This role requires hands-on experience in Sterling EDI, ensuring projects are delivered with high quality and accuracy. The Specialist collaborates with a small team, managing projects efficiently, and providing support to resolve client issues effectively.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:

• Lead the B2B EDI team in design, development, systems analysis, integration testing, and deployment activities.
• Manage B2B EDI support and development, ensuring seamless electronic transactions with trading partners.
• Monitor incoming and outgoing transactions daily, resolving issues promptly, and maintaining thorough documentation.
• Mentor and coach team members, setting clear goals and fostering skill development in B2B EDI.
• Maintain IBM Sterling B2B Integrator (SI) / AS2 and VAN communication systems with trading partners.
• Organize and update system documentation, including specifications from trading partners.
• Conduct complex analysis of DB2 databases to build and test EDI maps, addressing errors and optimizing processes.
• Provide technical support on a rotational basis, adhering to management guidelines.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science preferred, with at least seven years of experience in B2B EDI systems and project management.

Skills Required:

• Proficiency in IBM Sterling B2B Integrator, AS2, FTP, and VAN communication systems.
• Knowledge of API processing and data communication protocols.
• Familiarity with Word, Excel, and Visio.
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
• Experience with IBM i (formerly AS/400) is advantageous.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
