QUALIFICATIONS: Must have Registered Nurse license pursuant to Chapter 4723 of Revised Code. A valid Ohio driver’s license and ability to maintain a driving record that meets the insurability requirements of Miami County Public Health’s Insurance provider. Have a current CPR certification (or obtain as soon as possible after employment). Would prefer Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and one year Nursing experience or equivalent.

DUTIES: Communicable Disease Nurse - Aids in the prevention and control of communicable diseases through education and epidemiological investigations and performs case follow-up along with data entry into the Ohio Disease Reporting System (ODRS). Back up Immunization Coordinator. Attends monthly late clinic for Immunizations – 1st Thursday of the month. Perform “Day-In” duties to include administration of vaccines for all age ranges (infant to adult). Communication with Medical Director for treatment as needed for client. Educate and counsel clients when they call, making referrals as needed. Program lead for Cribs for Kids (Safe Sleep). Assist with Moms Quit for Two (Tobacco Cessation) Program. Occasional nursing duties for Well Child, Prenatal, and Reproductive Health and Wellness Clinics. Use of standard office equipment and computer software such as an EMR, Word, Excel, and other data systems. Follows established program and grant protocols, guidelines, and program plans and complies with HIPAA, and other regulations and requirements. Participates in accreditation related activities. Participates in emergency response as requested. During an emergency situation, individual may be required to work beyond normal business hours and in different locations within Miami County.
