The Outpatient Coder HCC role is responsible for accurate assignment of ICD and CPT codes of diagnoses and procedures for outpatient medical records in multiple outpatient settings including Provider Based Outpatient Hospital Clinics.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
1. Education: Associate Degree with completion of an accredited program through AHIMA or AAPC preferred.
2. License/Certifications: Coding certification (CPC, RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CPC A, CPC-H, COC, CIC) required.
3. Experience: Two years of multi-specialty coding experience with CPT/ICD-10-CM/HCPCS/modifer coding for provider professional charges required. Experience with risk adjustment coding in an acute care setting preferred. Experience coding E/M's, Outpatient Hospital Clinics, Professional CPT's, radiology and simple visit coding preferred.
