Cost Analyst

Senior Cost AnalystWe are seeking an experienced Price Cost Analyst to join our team, specializing in analyzing statistical and proposal data to develop independent price and cost recommendations. This role is located in Poway, CA, and offers the opportunity to work in a leading organization known for its reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.Responsibilities:Exercise considerable latitude in analyzing statistical and proposal data to develop independent price and cost recommendations for negotiations.Compile and analyze source data from government or commercial databases to establish price and cost positions.Interface with internal functional groups and outside vendors/suppliers to gather necessary information.Perform detailed analysis of supplier proposals and supporting documentation to validate cost elements.Conduct fact-finding at supplier locations to review estimates and source documentation.Analyze and audit direct/indirect rates at supplier facilities to formulate rate recommendations.Perform regression analysis to account for learning or quantity variance.Determine the reasonableness of proposed cost and pricing.Interpret relevant government regulations such as FAR and DFARS.Develop and maintain spreadsheet and cost models to support analysis, and prepare detailed reports.Participate in cost and pricing reviews with management, customers, and suppliers.Contribute to the development and training of professional staff.Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information and observe all applicable laws and regulations.Perform additional duties as assigned.Essential Skills:Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, systems engineering, mathematics, or business administration.6+ years of experience in cost and price analysis, especially in DoD contracts.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPS and pivot tables.In-depth knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and CAS regulations.Strong data analysis and regression analysis skills.Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.Additional Skills & Qualifications:Master's degree is a plus.Experience with SAP software.Strong supply chain knowledge.Experience working in a government contracting environment.Familiarity with government procurement processes.Work Environment:The position offers a flexible work schedule, typically requiring availability from 9 AM to 3 PM PST with some flexibility for late meetings as needed. The role requires interfacing with multiple departments and external suppliers, and may involve occasional travel for fact-finding at supplier locations. The team is composed of ten professionals who collaborate on cost analysis projects.
