Continental Express Inc., an asset based carrier seeks aggressive, highly motivated candidate for a Load Planner position at its corporate office in Sidney. This position requires a candidate who can thrive in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks effectively, and contribute to the overall efficiency of transportation operations. Ideal candidate will be a self starter with the ability to communicate and interface effectively with all levels of the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Ensures customer freight is planned for on time pickup and delivery.
- Understand daily capacity needs/opportunities and pro-actively communicates to fleet manager and customer service teams
- Work with the operations personnel to execute network optimization plans to eliminate long-term and short-term imbalances and ensure customer service commitments are met.
- Review driver’s Hours of Service Logs for available hours.
- Assist in managing trailer pools in designated markets.
- Maintains direct contact with members of the organization to coordinate and increase the efficiency of driver, truck, and trailer assignments.
- Maximizes utilization by minimizing dwell under loads- specifically, looks for opportunities to re-appoint loads that would be early, looks for opportunities to convert to drop trailer pools with customers, etc.
- Understands the area customer KPIs such as the trailer pool requirements, service numbers, commitments (Lanes/Volume and transit).
- Identify and execute continuous improvement opportunities that improves financial performance and service levels, enhancing value proposition for internal and external customers
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or logistics or equivalent.
- Three years of experience in the motor carrier operations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering information.
- Maintain positive attitude with drivers, staff and supervisors.
- Must be a team player and strong leader with excellent communication skills.
- Must be able to demonstrate the ability to organize, direct and manage multiple tasks in a changing complex environment and have effective stress and time management skills
