Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented China Market focused New Product Purchasing Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying, sourcing, and purchasing pet-related accessories from manufacturers in China. This role requires a deep understanding of the retail and wholesale market, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers. The candidate will work closely with our sales and marketing teams to ensure that the products meet the quality standards and preferences of our retail and e-commerce clients in the United States.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and source new and innovative pet-related accessories from suppliers and manufacturers in China.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and favorable terms.
- Conduct market research to identify emerging trends in the pet accessories market.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and manufacturers.
- Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to align purchasing decisions with market demand and customer preferences.
- Ensure all products meet the company’s quality standards and compliance requirements.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the logistics team to ensure timely delivery of products.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor products, and market conditions to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Prepare and present regular reports on purchasing activities, supplier performance, and market trends.
Qualifications:
- Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English, both written and spoken.
- Proven experience in product purchasing, sourcing, or procurement
- Strong knowledge of the Chinese manufacturing landscape and supply chain.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and purchasing software.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with international shipping and customs regulations.
- Knowledge of pet-related products and trends in the U.S. market is a bonus but other industries are fine.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
