Our client is a leading Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) company providing innovative solutions for the power, renewable, and industrial industries.


As a Preconstruction Manager, you’ll be a key member of our solar project proposal and execution teams. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and own the project execution plan during the bidding phase and ensure a smooth transition to project execution.


Key Responsibilities:


Pre-Award:

  • Develop execution plans for new renewable power projects.
  • Participate in pre-bid site visits.
  • Collaborate with in-house engineers and subcontracted EORs to develop conceptual designs.
  • Build and maintain relationships with major subcontractors.
  • Solicit subcontractor bids and ensure accurate reflection in the estimate.
  • Collaborate with various teams to develop competitive proposals for new project opportunities.


Post-Award:

  • Assist in EPC contract negotiation, focusing on the scope of work and technical exhibits.
  • Interface with EOR, review design drawings, and provide feedback on design.
  • Lead the initial subcontracting process including RFP issuance, proposal review, and subcontract agreement negotiation.
  • Ensure an orderly transition to execution by handing off the project to the PM and field team.


Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in Procurement/EPC/Development/Legal, preferably with a renewable energy EPC contractor.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead the subcontracting process from RFP through subcontract execution.
  • In-depth knowledge of the construction process, including scheduling, contract administration, procurement, manpower planning, etc.


Preferred Skills:

  • Proficiency in estimating and project budgeting.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and foster positive business relationships.
  • Experience in managing EPC projects.
  • Familiarity with critical path management scheduling.
  • Experience managing people and subcontractors.
