This durable goods manufacturing company is actively seeking a Process Improvement Project Engineer / Automation Engineer to join their dynamic team and contribute to cutting-edge medium to high volume highly engineered manufacturing initiatives set against the scenic backdrop of Lake Michigan.

The Process Improvement Project Engineer / Automation Engineer role is pivotal, focusing on advancing and implementing new manufacturing automation technologies and the reshoring/onshoring of automated processes from abroad. Key Responsibilities:

  • Automation Strategy: Lead the organization in planning, developing, and executing automation initiatives and bringing automated processes back to their US plants. Bring manufacturing jobs home Troubleshooting the processes as equipment is reset up in US plants.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive efficiency in key automation processes, leveraging Lean/ operational excellence principles for enhanced material flow.
  • Global Standards: Establish and implement standardized practices for manufacturing labor, machinery, and tooling worldwide.
  • Project Management: Oversee multiple projects, ensuring timely completion and seamless team communication.
  • 25% overnight travel expected: Support multiple manufacturing plants (stamping, injection molding, hardening, assembly, fabrication). See your solutions implemented across multiple facilities.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in taking plants from good to great. Transformational experience in process improvement from an engineering perspective
  • Interest in digging into processes, working with operators to find better and more efficient ways to produce finished durable goods.
  • Analytical skills to take gathered information and find capital expenditures (capex) solutions, write proposals, and follow through with implemention
  • Project Management skills to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
