Warehouse Supervisor - ShipyardSOUTH BAY SANDBLASTING & TANK CLEANING, INC. located in San Diego, CA shipyard related subcontractor looking to hire a Warehouse Supervisor.Must be in San Diego California, we are not looking to relocate candidates at this time.Responsibilities:Excellent leadership skills, including the abilities to set goals, motivate and manage conflict.Effective communication skills, including writing, speaking and active listening.Great interpersonal skillsGood project management skills, including strong decision-making, problem-solving and strategic planning abilities.Exceptional time management and organization skillsIn-depth understanding of industry and company best practices for the warehouseFamiliarity with bookkeeping, inventory control practices and logisticsComfortable using inventory management software and other organizational computer applications.Physical strength, stamina, and the ability to walk or stand for long periods of time.Requirements:Three or more years of experience in a warehouse role managing hourly employees.Proficiency with warehouse procedures and policiesExcellent problem-solving skills and leadership qualitiesAbility to work collaboratively with all levels of company staff.Ability to deliver effective feedback, both written and verbalLicense to operate a forklift.Education Requirements:High school diploma or GED, Technical/Vocational trade school, or apprenticeshipWorking Conditions and Physical Demands:Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and carry the same for short distances and up and down stairs and steep inclinesThe work requires long periods of sitting in awkward positions, standing on a variety of surfaces and at differing angles, bending over, crouching, and climbing up and over obstructions such as scaffolding, ladders, and internal barge and boat structural members.Other requirements:All positions require a pre-employment medical test. This employer participates in E-Verify. Must be able to qualify for DBIDS security clearance. Ability to read technical English is a must.
