SUMMARY 
Operates a feed truck in order to feed cattle using established route pattern to ensure consistent application of established feed rations.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • 70%  Feeds cattle on an established pen route; unloads feed truck contents into the concrete feed bunks according to the Feed Boss' instructions.
  • 20%  Loads feed truck with proper feed proportions according to the individual ration requirements.
  • 10%  Cleans the feed truck; takes the truck to be serviced by Company mechanics.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS 
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to managers and other employees of the organization.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS 
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.

 

REASONING ABILITY 
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES 
Ability to operate a 10 wheeler truck.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration. The employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
