Sentara Health is currently recruiting for Registered Respiratory Therapiststo work at Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk, VA. This role is a Full Time, night shift position.

Up to $20,000Sign On Bonus for Full Time Qualified Candidates Up to $10,000Sign On Bonus for Part Time Qualified Candidates Experienced and New Graduates May Qualify Relocation, Moving Allowance and Housing Allowance available to candidates outside of geographic area.

Sentara Obici Hospital is a state-of-the-art facility located in Suffolk, Virginia. This 172-bed, full-service hospital continues a legacy of providing residents of Western Tidewater with high-quality, patient-centered care. In June 2010, Sentara Obici opened a new three-story, 63,480 square-foot wing, which includes all private beds serving orthopedic, medical and surgical patients and increased the hospital‘s bed capacity.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associates or Bachelor‘s degree required. Non degreed applicants with RRT credentials prior to January 1, 2006 and graduates from a military RT program with RRT credentials will also be considered.

  • State license, active NBRC RRT and BLS required at time of hire. For new graduates only, must have State license and BLS at time of hire, and must obtain NBRC RRT within 6 months of hire date.

Job Summary

The Registered Respiratory Therapist builds upon the overall pulmonary management in identifying and implementing physician directed respiratory care interventions for an individual or a group of patients. Works cooperatively with nursing and other health care team members for professional respiratory care practice for all patients ranging in ages from neonates to adults in all clinical and ambulatory settings. Responsible for the appropriate age specific assessment and treatment of patients. May have access to, or oversight of Protected Health Information (PHI) in the course of carrying out position duties.

Qualifications:

ALD - Associate‘s Level Degree: Respiratory Therapy (Required), BLD - Bachelor‘s Level Degree: Respiratory Therapy (Required)

Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) RQI, Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) - Certification - National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC), Respiratory Therapist License - State license - North Carolina Respiratory Care Board (NCRCB), Respiratory Therapist License - State license - Other/National, Respiratory Therapist License - State license - Virginia Department of Health Professionals (VADHP)
