Position can be based in the following locations:Atlanta, GABoston, MAChicago, ILManhattan, NYWest Hartford, CTThe Senior Complex Claims Specialist-Professional Liability role is an individual contributor responsible for the handling of high-severity primary Professional Lines including Miscellaneous Professional Liability, A&E, Allied Health, and Media claims for the organization from inception to resolution. This role is responsible for all aspects of the claims and litigation process, including liaising with external and internal business partners (e.g., outside experts and/or legal counsel; underwriting) as required. In addition to handling assigned claims, this role also:With minimal supervision, adjusts to resolution the highest severity claims and drafts the most complex technical coverage analysis and letters required in the given claim departmentActs as subject matter expert within the teamModels gold standard for litigation best practices and file integrityUses superior knowledge and experience to affect positive claim outcome via investigation, negotiation and utilization of alternative dispute resolutions, including identifying appropriate matters for trialIdentifies and provides potential solutions for emerging exposures and claims trendsIdentifies suspected fraudulent claims and tracks with special investigations unitAccurately documents claim files with all relevant correspondence and notes in compliance with company policies and applicable regulatory authoritiesMentors other team members, including providing formalized training, as neededDevelops content and conducts training for claims team and underwriters as requestedThe US Claims team at Hiscox is a growing group of professionals working collaboratively to provide superior customer service and claims handling expertise.
