The SpaDerma brand is highly creative, youthful and innovative. In order to enhance our brand we are seeking a Visual Merchandiser who will spearhead our creative efforts in each location to set us apart from competitors. The Visual Merchandiser is responsible for creating and maintaining an appealing and visually compelling store environment that attracts customers, enhances the shopping experience, and maximizes sales. This role involves designing and implementing innovative visual displays and strategies in line with the brand’s identity and marketing objectives.


*This is an on-going contract position for 20+ hours of work per week. These hours may fluctuate depending on promotional needs. 


Responsibilities:


  • Design and Display: Develop and execute creative visual concepts for in-spa displays, windows, and promotional events. Ensure displays are regularly updated to reflect seasonal changes, promotional events, and current trends.
  • Store Layout: Plan and adjust the spa layout to optimize product placement and maximize customer flow and engagement. Collaborate with store management to rearrange products and fixtures to improve space utilization and visual appeal.
  • Product Presentation: Implement effective product merchandising techniques to highlight key items and collections. Maintain the highest standards of visual presentation, ensuring that products are displayed attractively.
  • Brand Consistency: Ensure all visual merchandising efforts align with the brand’s image and marketing guidelines. Adapt and customize visual displays to reflect trends and preferences while maintaining brand integrity.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the marketing department and management teams to coordinate merchandising activities. Communicate visual merchandising strategies and guidelines to management, providing training and support as needed.
  • Maintenance and Upkeep: Ensure that all visual elements and displays are in excellent condition, clean, and safe for customers. Address any issues promptly, including broken fixtures or damaged merchandise.


Education and Experience:


  • Degree in Visual Merchandising, Design, Marketing, or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in visual merchandising, retail design, or a related role.
  • Strong creative and artistic abilities with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent understanding of design principles and color theory.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.


Working Conditions:


  • Ability to travel to and work in all 5 of our spa locations across the Chicagoland area.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the spa for extended periods.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Ability to lift and move merchandise and fixtures as needed.
