General Notes

This position could be filled at a higher level, relative to the experience of the selected candidate. Purpose

The Electrical/Mechanical Technician will fabricate, build and assemble advanced semiconductor technologies based on engineered drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities
  • Fabrication of electromechanical assemblies using hand and machine tools.

  • Evaluate and repair specialized electrical and mechanical assemblies.

  • Operation of specialized electrical test equipment.

  • Procuring parts and working with vendors, quality control of parts and assemblies.

  • Construction and encapsulation of acoustic arrays and cables.

  • Manual soldering/rework of surface mount components on printed circuit boards.

  • Fabrication of cable harness assemblies.

  • Prepare and maintain accurate quality and assembly documentation.

  • Other related functions as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • High school graduation or GED.

  • Electrical & Mechanical Technician I: Four years‘ experience in the skilled construction and maintenance of specialized electronic equipment using hand and machine tools.

  • Electrical & Mechanical Technician II: Six years‘ experience in the skilled construction and maintenance of specialized electronic equipment using hand and machine tools.

  • Senior Electrical & Mechanical Technician: Eight years‘ experience in the skilled construction and maintenance of specialized electronic equipment using hand and machine tools.

  • Knowledge of electronic circuits, wiring, soldering, and reading electrical schematics.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, while fully managing multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Proven ability to follow both written and verbal work instructions and consistently apply them to work.

  • Evidence of skills in the following areas: working with new technologies, being highly organized, planning and coordinating multiple tasks, effective time management, attention to detail, effective problem solving skills, using excellent judgement, working independently with sensitive and confidential information, maintain a professional demeanor, working as a team member without daily supervision, effectively communicating with all groups of clients, working under pressure, accepting supervision.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to assemble, disassemble, test, and troubleshoot system level and component level problems in electrical and mechanical systems and document findings.

  • Experience working with external vendors for part procurement.

  • Familiarity with inventory control procedures.

  • Excellent planning/organizational skills and success in a dynamic customer service environment.

  • Experience building electronic and mechanical assemblies including wiring assemblies.

  • Experience with additive manufacturing, planning and operation.

  • Completion of continuing education/certification in electronics or machining.

  • Experience in a startup or research and development (R&D) environment.

Salary Range
  • Electrical & Mechanical Technician I - $70,000 + negotiable depending on qualifications

  • Electrical & Mechanical Technician II - $75,000 + negotiable depending on qualifications

  • Senior Electrical & Mechanical Technician - $85,000 + negotiable depending on qualifications
