A public safety company who has developed innovative rapid access solutions for first responders is looking to add a Lead Data Warehouse Architect to their team.


Initially you will be familiarizing yourself with their existing data sets and source data solutions, and then re-architect the data views, access permissions and support eco system to enable our business users to build Power BI reports from trusted data views using a consistent design methodology. They are looking for a motivated individual who can work independently and as part of their IT team, with good verbal and written communication skills both at an end user and technical level. You will have the opportunity to take an existing data warehouse environment and transform it into a trusted enterprise-wide platform, that you will then own, scale, maintain, and promote. They are a small IT team serving a fast-growing privately-owned business so reliability, quality of work and team contributor are key traits to being successful in this role.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead subject matter expert and technical leadership for the data warehouse reporting environment.
  • Manages the roadmap for the data warehouse environment, through collaboration with IT leadership and stakeholders to develop the data strategy and alignment with business objectives.
  • Monitors, audits, and optimizes the data management system for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Document the methodology and templates for Power BI report development, hosts training and provides user support, to ensure the presentation of accurate data.
  • Works closely with business stakeholders to understand and document their requirements, translating into technical specifications for internal or offshore development when applicable.
  • Develop and maintain data governance policies and procedures to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of our organizations data for reporting.
  • Develops and maintains the organization’s data architecture, including data models, data dictionaries, and data integrations.
  • Promotes the DW and reporting tools across the organization to encourage single source of truth when presenting data for strategic decision making.


Qualifications:

  • Degree in Computer science, Computer engineering or a related field.
  • 5-7 Years experience working with data, reporting and data management systems and architectures.
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of data organization and how to present data to support reporting.
  • Sales and Financial reporting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of data security principles and protocols to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive information with the ability to manage robust access controls.
  • well with users with different levels of expertise.
  • Reliable, trustworthy, organized, and pays close attention to detail and quality of work.
  • Experience gathering business requirements and translating these into workable solutions.


Skills:

  • Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting tool experience.
  • Data Modeling, Data profiling, Data Lineage, Data quality methodology and tools.
  • ETL tools, SSIS and Jitterbit a plus.
  • Snowflake, SQL and SnowSQL.
