SUMMARY

This role specializes in driving innovative formulations for the organization, to enable sales of products, as well as to provide formulation and application support for the sales team through technical presentations. Besides a strong formulation background, the development of innovative new solutions for our proprietary actives’ portfolio is also a significant deliverable.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and guide direct reports to meet all project milestones on time.
  • Manage customer projects providing regular updates, timeline and progress reports.
  • Provide technical guidance on formulation and raw materials to formulation chemists, customers and sales team.
  • Manage innovation pipeline, customer formulation projects and troubleshoot requests.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Business Managers, to ensure effective marketing claims, and to ensure continued positive client relationships and to build relationships with new clients.
  • Investigate possibilities and benefits of line extensions and functional blends surpassing industry standards.
  • Research the feasibility of combining proteins with other chemistries and technology promoting synergistic effects.
  • Conceptualize and develop a range of formulations kits with our current actives based on new emerging trends.
  • Drive business development customers to meet annual and MTP targets and visit customers as required.
  • Support current Product Launches by creating formulation kits.
  • Design, research, develop, analyze and suggest new marketing concepts as well as strategies through formulation.
  • Support customer specific projects and the regional sales team.
  • Drive the stage gate process and lead monthly stage gate meetings
  • and evaluate competitive market intelligence, potential new products and applications, obsolete products, and general industry trends.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • of a BS Degree in Chemistry/ Cosmetology or related fields, MBA is a plus.
  • years experience in personal care industry.
  • Technical Background in formulation across categories and understanding of Skin and Hair Biology is required.
