IPC International, Inc. is looking to hire an Instructional Media Specialist. The Instructional Media Specialist is responsible for sourcing and creating the media used in the development of IPC educational products and services. The Instructional Media Specialist works closely with instructional designers, writers, graphic artists, project managers, subject matter experts, and vendors to help define and source visual materials that meet the learnings needs of IPC customers. ***Candidates MUST HAVE PCB Fabrication & Assembly experience/Electronics Manufacturing Industry Experience.


Responsibilities

Media Sourcing, Creation and Cataloguing – 60%

  • Source or create photos, graphics, animations, and video footage to facilitate the comprehension of written or narrated content, increase student engagement, and help students achieve learning objectives.
  • Source electronic components, consumable materials, tools, and equipment that need to be included in the creation of photos, graphics, videos, and other media.
  • Use electronic components, consumable materials, tools, and equipment to create photos, graphics, videos, and other media, including:
  • Performing all of the steps of the manual mounting and soldering process for components, wires, terminals, and other electronics assembly parts.
  • Employ subject matter experts, websites, printed materials, and other resources to obtain, create, and edit engineering drawings, work orders, bill of materials and other documents required to develop high learning transfer practice activities and assessments.
  • Organize and maintain an easily retrievable catalog of all IPC Education media assets.


Media Editing – 20%

  • Edit and manipulate photographs and illustrations that align with the stated learning objectives and best practices in instructional design.
  • Edit raw video footage into cohesive and visually appealing videos that align with the stated learning objectives and best practices in instructional design.


Collaboration & Professional Development

  • Coordinate and collaborate with internal teams and external vendors, such as instructional designers, writers, graphic artists, and project managers, to ensure the successful execution of projects.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of our target audience to develop content that facilitates learning.
  • Remain up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously enhance the quality and effectiveness of all media used in the development of IPC educational products and services.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university.
  • 5 years of experience in the electronics manufacturing industry.
  • Some experience in media editing or related.
  • Ability to translate ideas into compelling images and videos.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A keen eye for detail, composition, and aesthetic appeal.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • A portfolio or reel demonstrating your photo, video, editing, or content creation skills.
  • Travel and perform on-site media capture (e.g., photo, video) at various domestic and international locations – 20%.
