Medical Assistant

Duties:
Review Daily schedule and prepare exam rooms
Review weekly patient schedule and prepare charts for telemedicine/video visits
Room patients for providers – including:
· Review paperwork provided by patient
· Review of allergy/medications
· Review of vital signs
· Complete notes in patient chart
· Clean and disinfect room
Assist with in office procedures
· Explain in office procedures and obtain consents
· Be present in room with attending provider to help and give pt post procedure instructions
· document procedure in chart nurse note
· Clean and disinfect room
Perform rectal swabs for Pathogens.
· Procedure is explained to pt, collect specimen, prepare requisition order, complete notes and take to drop box
Answer triages / phones
· Complete triages that pertain to normal pathology results/call or mail result letter
· Answering telephone calls when busy and triage to appropriate provider
· Triage doctors regarding medication refills/prescription questions from pt or pharmacy.
Complete Medication, Hep C, Biologics prior Authorizations
Inventory and track medication samples
Schedule and prepare patients for small bowel capsule studies
Scheduling paracentesis
Scheduling blood transfusions
