Job Summary This role involves providing essential respiratory therapy services in accordance with physician orders and departmental policies across various acute and critical care settings. You will work independently and collaborate with medical professionals to deliver comprehensive care for patients of all ages, including infants, children, adults, and seniors. Pickens Hospital North Greenville Hospital Oconee Memorial Hospital Roger C. Peace Rehabilitation Hospital We offer competitive sign-on bonuses for eligible full-time positions: $7,500 for Direct Care Respiratory Therapists with one year of experience and $5,000 for those with less than one year of experience. We also provide $1,800 in tax-free loan repayment annually and relocation assistance if moving to South Carolina. Key Responsibilities Perform respiratory therapy procedures as per physician orders and guidelines, demonstrating independence in critical care settings. Obtain, analyze, and report blood gas results accurately. Initiate, monitor, and manage patients requiring various types of mechanical ventilation. Skillfully manage airway equipment and associated respiratory devices. Document and charge for all procedures, providing necessary patient and family education. Communicate effectively with healthcare team members and maintain accurate reports. Adhere to infection control standards and ensure proper equipment sanitization. Use resources efficiently, including supplies and time. Supervisory/Management Responsibility This position does not involve management responsibilities and reports to a supervisor or department head. Minimum Requirements Graduate from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program or eligible for South Carolina licensure, or a senior student graduating within three months. Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses Must be licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in South Carolina or eligible for licensure. BLS certification is required. NBRC credentials must be maintained. Individuals hired before June 2016 may be a Certified Respiratory Therapist. New hires from June 2016 onward must pass the Therapist Multiple Choice Exam and Clinical Simulation Exam within six months of graduation, or termination will occur. NRP and PALS are required before independent work in the NICU and PICU. Other Required Skills and Experience Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, with strong communication, organizational, and computer skills.
