Be part of our global success and together, we accelerate the discovery, development and delivery of solutions that safeguard and improve human health.The Supervisor, Chemical Manufacturing will lead and direct the manufacturing technicians, monitor the quality of work, ensure employees receive the proper training, and address maintenance issues. Position will oversee and lead the daily plant operations including process and procedure improvement activities. Position will be responsible for the performance of the work cells assigned. This position reports to the Sr. Manager, Media Manufacturing and is part of the Media Manufacturing located in Torrance, CA and will be an on-site role. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:Provide guidance and direction to the manufacturing team of the assigned work cellsAccomplish manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring and appraising job results; initiating, coordinating and enforcing systems, policies and proceduresCoordinate daily production floor activities and delegate assignments to production personnelMonitor and enforce safety policiesEnsure all assigned work cells are producing product to the company's quality standardsThe essential requirements of the job include:7+ years work experience OR bachelor degreeLeadership experienceChemical Manufacturing and/or Chemical Handling experienceThe following are considered a plus:BS in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering preferredProficient at using problem solving tools, performing root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions and countermeasuresExperience implementing change using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methods and practicesWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must have the ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
