Overview: As a Project Manager, you will oversee the planning, organization, facilitation, and management of project team activities throughout the solution delivery lifecycle. Leading a team of experienced Business Analysts, Systems Analysts, Developers, and Quality Assurance Analysts, you will work in an Agile environment and participate in all typical Agile ceremonies.
Responsibilities:
- Initiate projects by developing project management and communication plans, identifying stakeholders, securing resources, and facilitating project kick-offs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan solution releases, coordinate testing, and implement final products.
- Manage project risks, issues, and activities to ensure goals, budgets, deadlines, scope, and quality standards are met. Remove obstacles and assist with problem resolution or risk mitigation.
- Participate in creating and maintaining the project budget throughout its lifecycle.
- Contribute to expanding the project management discipline within the organization through learning and development initiatives and provide guidance to other Project Managers.
- Ensure project progress through constant prioritization, cost, scope, change, and quality management.
- Complete project closure activities to formalize and communicate project acceptance, and hand over documentation and ongoing activities to responsible teams.
- Conduct retrospective project reviews to identify areas for improvement.
- Apply and enforce the use of standard project and functional practices, procedures, and tools.
- Identify and implement methodologies, tools, and templates, setting expectations on project execution.
- Oversee and support the creation of the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for projects.
- May participate in discovering and selecting external staffing resources.
- Assist in establishing vendor relationships through product evaluation, selection, and creation of Requests for Proposal (RFP).
- Ensure project deliverables align with compliance objectives and participate in audit processes.
- Oversee escalated product support, including on-call (after-hours, weekends, and holidays) for high-priority issues.
- Participate in the continuous employee review process by providing specific input on team member performance.
- Identify process gaps or areas for improvement within the project team and recommend or implement solutions.
- Coordinate and oversee the onboarding of new project team members, including training on systems, tools, and project methodologies.
- Provide project status and KPI reports to IT leadership.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or a combination of related education and work experience in project management equivalent to four years.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Project Manager, Project Coordinator, or equivalent role in a software development or SAAS implementation project, including at least 2 years in an Agile development environment.
- Basic knowledge of software development tools, technologies, and methodologies; experience with Microsoft development technologies/platforms strongly preferred.
- Experience with project management tools such as VSTS/Azure DevOps or similar required.
- PMI-PMP, PMI-ACP, or equivalent strongly preferred.
- Occasional travel required, typically quarterly.
- Leadership and coaching skills, action-oriented and driven, organized, problem-solver, clear and concise communicator.
Bonus Skills:
- Basic knowledge of the Microsoft Power Platform, including Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Azure.
