Qualifications:

  • Education/Certification: Education, training, and experience: Any combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree with a technical major such as Computer Science or related field from an accredited institution
  • five or more years of progressively responsible experience in the technology field
  • three years related to the duties of this position desirable
  • trainings or certifications in cybersecurity related systems or technologies preferred.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate or equivalent certification such Cisco Certified, CyberOps is required and must be kept valid during the term of employment Other acceptable certifications include: CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor), Security+ (CompTIA Security+), CISM (Certified Information Security Manager), CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker)


Minimum Required Qualifications:

• Experience working for an Educational institution such as a school district or university

• Knowledge of network infrastructure

• Hands on experience and management of Cisco routing and switching equipment

• Hands on experience and configuration/installation of Cisco wireless technologies including ISE, DNAC and access points.

• Hands on experience and management of Cisco firewalls

• Hands on management and knowledge of DNS and DHCP

• Knowledge of Active Directory

• Knowledge of content filtering

• Knowledge of VPN (Virtual Private Networks)

• Modern operating systems including Windows, Mac OS, and Linux; application, server, and storage architecture and security processes

• Modern scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, Python, or Perl

• Knowledge of data security design • Cybersecurity laws and regulations; standards, controls, policies, and procedures as defined by DIR and NIST

• Knowledge of TCP/IP including routing protocols including IP addressing, subnetting and well-known ports Industry standards for encryption including but not limited to FTP, SFTP and SSH

• Basic networking concepts and services such as DNS, SMTP, HTTP, and HTTPS

• Intrusion and detection methodologies

• Knowledge of (IPS) principles of local and wide-area network design and operation • Risk and threat assessment processes and practices Malware such as worms, viruses and Trojans, unsecure protocols ports and services

• Maintain and update Incident Response procedures and processes

• Understanding and experience with SEIM tool or other similar correlational tools

• Hands on management and configuration of network diagnostic tools

• Ability to organize and coordinate work • Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written forms

• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work
