With our fast-paced release cycle and an influx of large-scale enterprise customers, our goal is to maintain development velocity while proactively identifying and eliminating performance bottlenecks. Youll have the opportunity to shape performance strategy from the ground up, build and maintain performance frameworks, analyze system behavior under load, and work cross-functionally to integrate performance-first principles throughout the product development lifecycle.We are seeking a Senior/Staff Performance Engineer to enhance performance, scalability, and reliability, collaborating with development teams to eliminate bottlenecks, execute performance tests, and drive optimizations. If you thrive in a high-impact, performance-driven culture and value collaboration, lets talkKey Responsibilities:Design and execute performance tests using various tools and techniques to identify bottlenecks and performance issues.Own end-to-end performance testing, including strategy, requirements gathering, test planning, scripting, execution, monitoring, and results analysis.Collaborate with engineering teams to diagnose and resolve performance issues across application code, infrastructure, and database layers.Monitor and analyze performance metrics using tools like Datadog or New Relic, and provide optimization recommendations.Develop and maintain performance testing frameworks, and coverage scripts, ensuring scalability and automation.Conduct in-depth performance analysis and tuning, participate in code reviews, and offer deep performance insights.Work with stakeholders to understand and establish performance requirements, refine performance benchmarks, KPIs, and SLAs.Stay up to date with performance best practices and emerging technologies to continuously improve system reliability.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with an aptitude for learning new technologiesQualifications5+ years of experience in performance engineering with a strong focus on optimization, scalability, and system reliability.Hands-on expertise in performance testing methodologies, including load, stress, chaos, and capacity testing.Proficiency in performance testing tools such as JMeter, K6, Gatling, Locust, or other industry-standard frameworks.Deep experience in performance tuning and optimization across databases, applications, and infrastructure.Strong system design principles and proficiency in programming/scripting with Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript.Hands-on experience with performance monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog, New Relic, Prometheus, and Grafana.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.Self-driven and adaptable, able to work independently and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.Benefits:Health, dental, and vision insurance401kWellness reimbursementTake what you need vacation policyGenerous parental leave for both primary and secondary caregiversBase Salary Range: $170,000 - $210,000 The base salary range represents the minimum and maximum of the salary range for this position based at our San Francisco headquarters. The actual base salary offered for this position will depend on numerous factors, including individual proficiency, anticipated performance, and the location of the selected candidate.
