EVS Floor TechnicianEssential FunctionsOperates various types of equipment used for floor care maintenance such as automatic scrubbers, floor machines, wet/dry vacuums, burnishes, vacuums, sweepers, pressure wash equipment and carpet extractors.Provides daily preventive equipment maintenance on all equipment used.Schedule and plan all restorative hard surface floor care workEnsure that all carpets are extracted at least two times per yearSurface clean carpets at least once per monthMaintain all EVS equipment as per manufacturer specificationsPrioritize and coordinate with other workers as needed to complete floor care work within the overall scope of multi-trade projects.Assists the supervisor in the training of employees in proper floor care methods and procedures.Dust mops, cleans and burnishes floors; strips, refinishes, scrubs and/or recoats floors; machine scrubs floors according to floor maintenance schedulesAssists supervisor with inventory, ordering supplies and ensures the use of chemicals and equipment is consistent with established safety standards and practices.Other duties as assigned within the EVS Department to include, but not limited to the duties of an EVS attendantKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesMust be able to work independently.Must be able to sit, stand or walk for long periods of timeMust be able to maneuver throughout all areas of the property and from floor to floor either by stairways (minimum of 20 steps) or escalator.Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 lbs.; and, have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop and kneel.Respond to visual and aural cues.Must be able to tolerate areas containing dust, loud noises and bright lights.Ability to speak distinctly and persuasively.Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand EnglishEducation and ExperienceHigh School diploma or equivalent requiredThree years of floor care experience or more requiredThree years of experience in working with cleaning chemicals requiredCertificate in floor care maintenance preferredRequired Certification/LicenseNot RequiredEqual Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
