Employment Type: Full-time/Part-time

Shift: Day/Night/Rotating Shifts

Position Summary:

The ICU Nurse provides specialized care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit. This role requires a high level of clinical expertise, critical thinking skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. The ICU Nurse will monitor patients closely, administer medications, operate life-support systems, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide the best possible care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans for critically ill patients.
  • Monitoring: Continuously monitor patients’ vital signs, symptoms, and overall condition, promptly identifying any changes that require immediate attention.
  • Medication Administration: Safely administer prescribed medications, including IV drugs, and manage complex medication regimens.
  • Life-Support Management: Operate and monitor ventilators, dialysis machines, and other life-support systems, ensuring optimal functioning and patient comfort.
  • Documentation: Accurately document all aspects of patient care, including assessments, interventions, medication administration, and patient responses.
  • Family Support: Provide emotional support and education to patients' families, keeping them informed about the patient's condition and care plan.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care.
  • Emergency Response: Quickly and effectively respond to emergencies, including cardiac arrest and respiratory failure, utilizing ACLS protocols.
  • Infection Control: Adhere to strict infection control procedures to prevent hospital-acquired infections.
  • Continuous Learning: Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain up-to-date knowledge of ICU nursing practices and technologies.
