RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed time, cost, materials, and labor estimates for electrical projects.
  • Prepare detailed take-offs and estimates for electrical systems, including labor, materials, and equipment.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to gather necessary information for estimating; collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop cost effective solutions and strategies for project bids.
  • Evaluate bid specifications and drawings, ensuring all information is accurate and comprehensive; prepare bid proposals and participate in the bidding process.
  • Track and report on current material and labor pricing, adjusting estimates as necessary.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to gather essential information for accurate estimates.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of cost control strategies throughout the project.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, construction management, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical estimating within the construction industry
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, materials, and installation methods
  • Proficiency in estimating software and tools (e.g., Accubid, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and other construction documents
  • Exceptional communication, organization, time management, and analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively in both independent and collaborative team-based environments
