WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR Our vehicles have been designed to be wrapped, enabling a new level of expression and personalization. We are seeking a Sr. Project Engineer to own the design, development, validation, installation plan, launch, and continuous improvement of wrap kits for our vehicle. You'll take responsibility for technical execution across design, engineering, and quality teams, as well as our suppliers, to ensure our wraps deliver outstanding quality, cost efficiency, and manufacturability. WHAT YOU GET TO DO Lead cross-functional teams (Engineering, Design, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, and suppliers) in the design, development, testing, and validation of vehicle wraps. Own the full design release process for wrap kits, from initial template creation through production release and change management. Collaborate with suppliers for material selection, prototyping, testing, and production readiness. Lead root-cause problem solving and resolution to deliver exceptional quality products for our customers. Define and maintain wrap requirements and specifications, including materials, tolerances, and appearance standards. Optimize wrap designs for manufacturability, cost efficiency, and ease of installation while maintaining design intent. Lead DFMEA and DVP (Design Validation Plan) activities, ensuring wraps meet environmental, durability, and visual performance targets. Work with purchasing and suppliers to ensure on-time, cost-effective sourcing and production ramp. WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM: Bachelor's degree in Engineering; MS a plus. 8+ years of experience in product design, automotive exteriors, printing, or applied film (e.g., as a Design & Release Engineer or Project Engineer). Six Sigma certification is a plus. Demonstrated capability in Design of Experiments, tolerance, and material properties. Working knowledge of vehicle surfacing, vinyl materials, plastics, large-format printing processes, or general film applications. Knowledge of adhesives, laminates, and environmental durability testing. Experience with 2D/3D CAD / vector design tools (Illustrator, Catia, or equivalent). Experience with PLM and engineering release processes (e.g., Teamcenter, Arena, or Windchill). Exposure to prototype builds and launch environments. WHY JOIN TEAM SLATE?
