The BSA is responsible for setting the vision for the product, and for prioritizing and accepting the work generated by the team to ensure the vision is met. The BSA is also responsible for communicating customer requirements and feature requests to the software development team. The BSA will work closely with Systems Engineers, Solution Architects and software engineering teams to break customer requirements into work items. The BSA partners directly with Program Managers to effectively track product delivery and are responsible for creating and maintaining a Release Plan. ForceX BSAs are assigned to a program or programs, and will interface directly with customers, stakeholders and vendors. BSAs have an operational, high-level knowledge of the software product and how it interfaces with the system as a whole, and can support technical customer meetings, integration events, and ground/flight test events. The Business Systems Analyst, Senior Specialist Level is a senior professional with experience as a Business Analyst or Product Owner, or significant experience in a related industry. The Senior Specialist BSA helps team members understand the integration of the software product on the SIL and has a strong working knowledge of the system as a whole. The Senior Specialist BSA builds effective working relationships across the team and organization and leads software development teams in day-to-day product development activities.Job Requirements:Develops product vision and strategy, and communicates it with other BSAs, software development team members, customers and stakeholdersDevelops a product roadmap or release plan, and prioritizes features for development to ensure product delivery schedules are met or exceededServes as the Product Owner, and communicates product vision, strategy and purpose to the team, effectively translating customer requirementsTracks project deliveries, analyzes business metrics, and reports status of deliverablesUses strong communication skills (written, verbal, visual) to effectively bridge the knowledge gaps between the members of the team, technical and non-technicalDevelops, maintains and prioritizes a healthy backlog using Agile Scrum practices, making informed prioritization decisions based on customer and stakeholder inputCollaborates with team to build a complete understanding of the customer requirementsAssist in writing and reviewing technical documentationCommunicates with stakeholders at varying technical levels; coordinates directly with customers and contract officials, as well as give presentations and briefs of program status, including existing and new/future requirementsMaintain a can-do attitude; ability to tackle new and unique problems and reach solutionsOther duties and responsibilities may be assigned as neededMinimum Qualifications:Proactive, self-starter with excellent project management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectivelyExcellent communication skills with the ability to engage, influence, and inspire partners and stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignmentGood critical thinking and analytical skillsGood customer relations skills and the ability to build relationshipsCapable of effective time managementDemonstrate sound judgment and strong reasoning skills as well as good analytical and problem-solving abilitiesHighly proficient grammatical skillsAbility to prioritize and organize tasks and assignmentsAbility to obtain a Secret security clearance, which requires US citizenshipPreferred Skills (beyond required):Ability to quickly learn and adapt to a changing environmentMilitary experience is a plusSoftware development experienceAbility to utilize multiple desktop publishing and still-image editing programsStrong presentation skillsStrong understanding of requirements of engineering practices for solicitation of information and derivation of requirementsEducation and Experience:Bachelor's degree in a technology or business related field with 6 years minimum prior work experienceGraduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience working as a Business Analyst, Engineer or experience with Department of Defense customers, hardware and software integration, or installation/maintenance of avionics systemsProven background of delivering quality requirements and seeing deliverables through to completionPhysical Demands:Required to sit for long periods of timeInfrequent light physical effort requiredWritten and verbal communicationDexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and mouseMay require the ability to travel via automobile or airplaneThis is an on-site positionPersonal Protective Equipment:As required by program needsWork Environment:Work performed in an office environment with people close to each otherWorking with computers, and other computer componentsDuties may require being on call periodically and working outside of normal working hours (evenings and weekends)
