Greenskeeper/ Equipment TechnicianFull-time salaried position starting at $18.00/hourThe Golf Club At Lansdowne is part of the Lansdowne Resort located in Leesburg, Virginia. The Lansdowne Resort opened in 1991 as a resort with one golf course for locals who wanted a short getaway from Washington DC. In 2005, the property went through a major expansion and renovation to add: 27 more holes of championship golf, full-service club house with restaurant and retail facilities, 2 outdoor pools, event spaces, and new spa. Today, Lansdowne Resort is owned by Dejia, LLC.
The resort is a sanctuary of approachable sophistication where you can feel at ease and inspired by the destination and pay homage to our heritage in the Potomac River Valley. The Golf Club At Lansdowne is managed by Troon and has a strong commitment to our people, providing on-the-job training, a healthy culture, and opportunities for growth. We are seeking applicants interested in making The Golf Club At Lansdowne a world-class golf experience for our members and our guests while keeping our staff motivated and committed to making the customer experience and great one. This position entails a dual role that supports the Agronomy Department.
This dual role entails maintenance of the golf course as well as support tasks for the mechanical team supporting the equipment used for the maintenance of the golf grounds. The candidate will support both the Assistant Superintendent of Agronomy and the Equipment Manager. Key competencies:InitiativeTechnically inclinedFlexibilityMulti-taskingSense of urgencyMust be able to work independently and be a strong problem-solverWhat you will do:Complete assigned tasks within given time limitsDrive a maintenance vehicleDrive a tractorOperate several different types of mowersPerform manual labor as needed such as:Hand-watering areas without irrigationRake bunkersSnow removalAssist with handling preventative maintenance, repairs, and setup of all equipment and licensed vehicles used by the crew at the grounds maintenance facilityInspect, replace/repair a wide variety of machinery used to keep the golf grounds in good condition. Assist in the maintenance of inventory of parts and suppliesAssist with organizing maintenance records, parts manuals, and toolsKeep the shop clean and orderlyQualifications:No previous experience requiredMechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skillsAbility to use technology such as; smart phones, tablets, computers, web-based applicationsFluent in the English languageMust have a valid driver's licenseWe are looking for individuals to join our team who want to share our values: to be professional, a team-player, genuine, attentive and forward-thinking.
