K-12 Education Program Manager - Hardware EngineeringCome join a team of dedicated people passionate about continuously improving the culture in Hardware Engineering (HWE). We are looking for someone to help lead our early talent pipeline strategy, specifically focused on K-12 education programs with a goal of getting students exposed and interested in engineering. This is a highly collaborative role where you will work with leadership (internal, as well as school and district leaders), engineers, people from several other organizations within Apple, and third party partners to ensure we are helping to prepare future talent for engineering.We're looking for someone to lead HWE's early talent pipeline initiatives, ranging from summer camps to external engagement events. Your experience should showcase a deep understanding of the K-12 education space, the ability to build strategic professional relationships and connections with students, faculty, and staff. You should also be able to effectively prioritize, drive decisions, and problem solve both collaboratively and individually. You should have experience utilizing data to track the efficacy of initiatives, implement a variety of methods for collecting feedback, and apply what you learn to continuously iterate, change, and improve programs and practices.ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible for all aspects of Apple Maker Academy, an engineering summer camp for high school students, including coming up with equitable selection criteria for participants and mentors, working with engineers to design camp content, sending and maintaining all communication, managing the logistics of booking spaces, speakers, and activities, collecting feedback, overseeing finances, and updating leadership.Lead Apple's relationship with FIRST Robotics, including interfacing with the organization as a representative of Apple, handling the distribution of funds, collaborating with mentors, and organizing and participating in off-site activities.Program manage a summer camp for educators to help them learn how to teach materials science in their classrooms in partnership with Materials engineers.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's in Education, Administration, or equivalent experience5+ years experience in K-12 education, specifically working directly with students, teachers, site administrators, and familiesExperience managing a full cycle program, from inception to completion, involving a budget and external partnersExperience working directly with K-12 studentsPassionate about creating inclusive educational environments and developing and mentoring people, especially studentsProven success building meaningful business relationships, influencing leaders and cross-functional teams, and managing partner expectationsExcellent project management, presentation, and communication skills with an emphasis on collaborationAble to think critically, especially when exploring and evaluating solutions and making decisionsAble to effectively allocate attention among multiple projects to ensure success while adhering to strict schedulesComfortable working with ambiguity and able to flourish in a highly dynamic environmentEager to receive feedback, drive for excellence, and see exciting projects through completionPreferred QualificationsMaster's in Education, Administration, or equivalent experienceExperience working in an engineering organization and influencing highly technical leadersExperience with FIRST RoboticsExperience working with external partnersExperience with 3D printingComfortable teaching others to code with Swift PlaygroundExperience designing camps focused on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics)At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $146,300 and $291,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You'll also receive benefits including: Comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, a range of discounted products and free services, and for formal education related to advancing your career at Apple, reimbursement for certain educational expenses including tuition.
