Led by a highly skilled team of anesthesiology and pain management doctors, The Nexus Pain Center in Columbus, LaGrange, Newnan, McDonough and Fayetteville Georgia, are the preeminent pain clinic providing their patients with innovative medical solutions and cutting-edge technologies. The Nexus Pain Center offers spinal-focused interventional pain management using the Boston Scientific Spinal Cord Stimulator and Stryker Radiofrequency tools, as well as nonsurgical options for pain and nonopioid medical therapies for those over the age of 18. These specialists pride themselves on their ability to give their patients the best care and service.

We are looking for a responsible and mature Licensed Practical Nurse assume the role in our Columbus, GA clinic. The ideal candidate will have experience as a LPN. We use eClinicalWorks charting systems, experience with this product is a plus. The Skills, knowledge and experience are used in determining the starting wage.

The PRE-OP LPN has the responsibility to plan, direct organize, coordinate, and implement all nursing care services for the pre-op and post-surgical patients in a manner consistent with our mission statement. The nurse's responsibilities include all aspects of patient care prior to and following surgery. This care includes monitoring heart rate, blood pressure, breathing and respiration, as well as managing the pain and nausea that often follow anesthesia.

Additional responsibilities of the LPN:

-Administer IV antibiotics, IV sedation, set up sterile surgical trays

-Assist with the following procedures:

  • Botox injection • Carpal tunnel injection • Celiac plexus block • Coccygeal nerve block • Discography/Discogram • Epidural blood patch • Epidural injections - cervical/thoracic/lumbar • Facet blocks (medial branch blocks) - cervical/ thoracic/lumbar • Genicular nerve blocks • Intercostal nerve block • Joint injections • Kyphoplasty • Lumbar sympathetic block • Occipital nerve block • Peripheral nerve block • Piriformis injection • Radiofrequency ablation -cervical/thoracic/lumbar/ SI joint/genicular • Sacroiliac joint injection • Stellate ganglion block • Spinal Cord Stimulation • Trigeminal nerve block • Trigger point injection

-Completes ongoing patient assessment and documents according to policy.

-Reports symptoms and significant changes in patient's condition to appropriate personnel immediately.

-Assesses, collaborates, and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs and readiness for discharge with other members of the care team.

-Demonstrates appropriate application of age specific standards, policies and procedures and guidelines in caring for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

-Demonstrates proficient IV setting skills (We are willing to train).

-Follows age specific standards of care during altered states of consciousness related to analgesia, conscious sedation, or anesthesia.

-The surgical site itself requires ongoing evaluation for potential bleeding or other pathological indications.

Required Skills:
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

-Current Georgia Nursing License

-Current CPR (within 90 days of hire)

-Current ACLS certification (within 90 days of hire)

-Graduate of an accredited nursing school

-Ability to recognize, evaluate, solve problems, and correct errors

-Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, staff, and physicians

-Excellent communication and organizational skills.

-Demonstrates accountability, professionalism, openness, receptive to change, creativity and innovation.

-Ability to adapt to change quickly, knowledge base relative to surgery procedures and management of the surgical patient

-Understands principles of aseptic technique.
